How long does it REALLY take to get an offer agreed?

You may have found that like many sales people, estate agents can be prone to the occasional exaggeration or bout of over confidence.

This seems to be particularly the case when they tell vendors how quickly they can sell their house.

But how long does it take to get an offer agreed, really?

Rightmove recently published their latest graph (on the right) of average 'time to sell', or how long it takes agents on average from launching a property to getting an offer agreed.

As you can see, the national average varied from 54 days (about 8 weeks) last May to a whopping 72 days (over 10 weeks!) in January.

Intrigued, we checked our own stats and found that across all the properties we sold in 2017 our average was just 24 days (less than 4 weeks)!

That's great news for our clients, as having an offer in hand so quickly makes them a 'hot buyer' and pushes them to the front of the queue for any property they want to buy.

If you know someone who is struggling to sell then don't hesitate to share this post with them. We would be happy to provide them with our expert and honest opinion should they need it.

Thanks for reading,

Maneesh
